Funder-Ready
Evidence base is complete and internally consistent; no material open findings; ready for capital-provider submission without further remediation.
Methodology
Published, versioned criteria — the same standard applied to every profile, every time, so a score means the same thing regardless of which advisor or capital provider is looking at it.
Current version
Effective . Every score Fintel Lab produces records the methodology version active at the time it was calculated — if criteria change, prior scores remain attributed to the version under which they were made, not silently reinterpreted under new criteria.
Rating bands
These definitions are the authoritative meaning of each band — not an internal label, a published standard.
Evidence base is complete and internally consistent; no material open findings; ready for capital-provider submission without further remediation.
Core evidence is present but has gaps, inconsistencies, or open findings that should be resolved with advisor support before submission to a capital provider.
Material evidence gaps or unresolved findings exist; not yet appropriate to present to a capital provider.
Governance
Scores intended for capital-provider-facing decisions are subject to weighted committee review, not a single analyst or automated judgment — reviewers vote, score independently, and record rationale before a decision is finalised.
Every score change is recorded on a permanent, insert-only ledger — the prior value, the new value, what triggered the change, and who or what recorded it. Nothing is silently overwritten. Where the person recording a score change is also the advisor who prepared the underlying evidence for that same client, this is flagged for independent review before the score is relied upon in a capital-provider decision.
Important
Fintel Lab's scores are decision-support analytics produced under the methodology described on this page. They are not a credit rating issued by a registered credit rating agency, and are not intended to satisfy any regulatory reliance requirement that requires a rating from a Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization (NRSRO) or equivalent. Capital providers should treat Fintel Lab scores as one input among the evidence available to them, not a substitute for their own independent credit or investment judgment.
